My Story
From twink to bear to twunk?*
Let me take you on a journey—from baby twink with a near-diabetes scare to where I am now.
I grew up in South Louisiana, deep in Cajun Country, where food is life. Gumbo, King Cake, Jambalaya, and Kraft Mac & Cheese defined my childhood. I was the hyperactive, skinny-fat kid who wasn't allowed sugar but still bounced off walls.
By high school, my lunches consisted of cookies and Coke, and in boarding school, it was all cereal, ramen, and PB&J.
Exercise? Non-existent. Nutrition? A mystery.
In Seattle, things got worse: late-night Denny’s runs, Slurpees, and endless coffee while gaming. My weight hit almost 200 lbs, and my doctor warned I was on the verge of type 2 diabetes.
Cue the panic. His only advice? “Lose weight.” So, I did what any ADHD brain would do—I hyperfocused. I dove into every diet, every theory, every conflicting piece of advice out there. Paleo, keto, you name it, I tried it.
I dropped almost 50 lbs but developed orthorexia along the way. I was obsessive and unbearable.
Then came the circus (literally) and weightlifting. But without proper hydration and nutrition, I ended up with gout. Clearly, I needed a healthier approach. So I hired a coach and learned about proper macro tracking, though I knew calorie counting had its flaws. Eventually, I realized that extreme dedication wasn’t sustainable for me.
A personal trainer friend recommended Precision Nutrition, and after working with another coach, I finally enrolled. Then, life threw me a curveball — a concussion sidelined everything. But after months of recovery, I earned my PN certification and started coaching.
Now, I take a whole-life approach to nutrition, focusing on sustainable habits, mindfulness, and building a healthy relationship with food. Sound like something you need? Let’s chat about how I can help you reach your goals.
